Volunteer Programme
The Daughters of Charity Services for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Volunteer Programme:
If you are interested in volunteering and have an hour or two to spare why not join the Daughters of Charity Services for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities volunteer programme in one of our centers:
• St Vincent's Centre, Lisnagry
• Community Residential Services
• Training Enterprise and Employment services
• East Limerick Children's Services
• St Anne's, Roscrea
We believe in the unique contribution that volunteers make to the life of a person with an intellectual disability. Volunteers, both young and old can bring both diversity and a wealth of experience through the sharing of their time, energy and enthusiasm.
How are volunteers involved in our service?
Volunteers will be involved in all aspects of our work; they will be involved directly or indirectly with our service users, from befriending to gardening, from art to driving, from Social club to Sports Events - all skills, talents and ideas are welcomed.
If you would like to find out more about our Volunteer Programme or if you would like to give an hour or more of your time and volunteer in one of our centres, please contact:

FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
A letter from a parent (download letter here) became part of the impetus which led to the formation of the volunteer programme in Lisnagry.
After discussion on the same the Lisnagry Association voted to fund the position of a full-time volunteer co-ordinator who would work with the Daughters of Charity setting up and establishing the volunteer programme in Lisnagry.
The Volunteer Initiative Programme in Lisnagry will involve the development of a long term programme that will recruit, coordinate and manage an infrastructure of volunteer roles that support, assist and improve the quality of life experience for all service users at Lisnagry Anyone interested in volunteering or obtaining information on positions available can contact Gráinne Keane.
